Ingredients

  • ▢4 frozen hash brown patties any brand
  • ▢salt to taste optional

Method

  1. 1. Preheat air fryer to 400° Fahrenheit. Once air fryer has preheated, remove basket and lightly spritz bottom of basket with neutral oil.
  2. 2. Place 4 frozen hash brown patties in air fryer in one flat layer, making sure not to stack or overlap hash brown patties.
  3. 3. Optional: For fast-food-style hash brown patties, lightly spritz tops of patties with neutral oil and sprinkle salt onto each patty to taste.
  4. 4. Place basket in preheated air fryer. Air fry hash browns 5 minutes, then remove basket and flip hash browns over. Return basket to air fryer and air fry hash browns 4 minutes more.
  5. 5. After 4 minutes, begin checking doneness of hash browns. If needed, continue air frying hash browns 1 to 3 minute more or until hash browns are golden, crispy, and warmed through completely.
  6. 6. When desired doneness is achieved, carefully remove hash brown patties from air fryer and serve as desired.

Notes

Spray Oil: Use a neutral oil in an oil spritzer. Aerosolized cooking sprays can damage the coating on the air fryer basket.
Hash Brown Patties: Cook straight from freezer, do not thaw first.
Cook Time: Every air fryer is different. Your hash brown patties should be ready in roughly 10-12 minutes, but check them often and adjust the cook time as needed so they don’t come out under- or over-done.
Make it Gluten Free: Use frozen hash brown patties in air fryer that are specifically gluten free, or double-check the ingredients list for hash brown patties that may not say “gluten free” but don’t use any gluten-containing ingredients or cross-contaminants.
